About The Happy Coyote
Art inspired by the Pacific Northwest
We’re Keith and Margaret, two lifelong Pacific Northwesterners creating art inspired by the beauty, mystery, and imagination of the place we call home.
The Pacific Northwest has always drawn us back. Even after living in other states, we knew this was where we belonged. Its forests, mountains, water, wildlife, open skies, and quiet sense of wonder continue to shape the way we see the world and the art we create.
We hope our work gives you a little glimpse into the Pacific Northwest and brings some of its beauty and spirit into your life.
Made with curiosity, precision, and a lot of fun
Our art is created using precision laser ablation and engraving to produce highly detailed images on a variety of materials. Some designs begin with our own ideas and imagination. Others begin with an image, memory, or concept that is meaningful to you.
Most of our work is created in black and white, allowing the detail and texture of each image to take center stage. We also use a limited range of colors, primarily in backgrounds, to add just the right amount of character.
We create each piece because we enjoy the process, and we hope that sense of fun and creativity comes through in the finished work.
Two different strengths, one shared creative vision
Keith brings a technical eye to the process. He enjoys working with the precision and possibilities of laser art, from lasering glass cabochons to engraving chef’s knives and creating detailed custom pieces.
Margaret brings an artistic perspective shaped by a lifelong desire to explore creativity in new ways. Her work reflects the imaginative and expressive side of what we create together.
Our different strengths complement each other, allowing us to combine technical detail with artistic expression in every piece.
Custom art made for you
Some of the most meaningful pieces begin with a personal idea.
We create special orders for yourself, a friend, or someone you love. You can request one of our existing designs, or ask us to create something based on your own image, photograph, or concept. We can also produce multiple pieces of the same design for gifts, events, or special occasions.
Whether you have a fully formed idea or only a starting point, we’re happy to talk through the possibilities with you.
